Tunisia: UBCI achieves NBI of 229 million dinars in 2018, up 14%

The Union Bancaire pour le commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI) achieved a Net Banking Income (NBI) of about 229 million dinars in 2018, i.e. an increase of 14.3% compared to 2017.

In fact, operating income reached 359 million dinars (+ 20.64%) while operating expenses amounted to 130 million dinars, up 33.5% compared to the same period 2017.

Outstanding customer loans (net of provisions and reserved agios) decreased slightly by 0.2% to 2.74 billion dinars.

Customer deposits show an increase of 7% compared to 2017 with an outstanding of 2.62 billion dinars.

In addition, operating expenses grew 15.26% compared to the same period of 2017, with an increase in personnel costs by 12% and operating expenses by 27%.

Excluding contributions to the Deposit Guarantee Fund, the increase in operating expenses would have been 10%.
