The unemployment rate went down in the third quarter of 2013, according to the latest figures provided by the National Institute of Statistics. This rate reached 15.7 % (620,600 unemployed) with 13.1 % men and 22 5% of women against 17% (665,000 unemployed) at the third quarter of 2012.
The same source notes that the number of unemployed university graduates reached 248,400 during the third quarter of 2013, against 217,000 during the same period of 2012.
With regard to the regional distribution of unemployment, the Southwest comes first with an unemployment rate of 23.1 %, followed by the Southeast (23%), the Central West (22.4%), the Northwest (19.5%), Greater Tunis (15.2%), the Central East (11.1%) and the Northeast (9.7 %).
On another side, the number of workers reached 3,341,200 people during the third quarter of 2013, against 3,242.9 during the same period last year, reports the source.
