Seventeen Tunisian companies active in the fields of construction, engineering, building materials and construction-related electrical material participated from December 9 to 12, 2013 in a mission of targeted professional contacts with Algerian operators.
The exporter centre (CEPEX ) and its representative office in Algiers, organizers of the mission , said the Tunisian delegation visited the trade fair for Building and Housing “SETIFBAT” held from December 9 to 13, 2013 in the city of Setif (300 km east of Algiers) , said a statement from CEPEX .
Tunisian companies and 206 Algerian operators discussed and negotiated several issues including the marketing of Tunisian building and electrical materials in Algeria, involvement of Tunisian design offices in engineering contracts in Algeria and the creation of joint enterprises in Algeria, Tunisia and even Libya.
Although meetings held in Setif were intended to approach companies in the eastern region of Algeria, several operators located in central cities (Algiers, Blida, Boumerdes ) and those from the west ( Oran , Chlef , Tlemcen particular), also participated in the meetings of Sétif, the statement said.
It should be noted that the economic development program in force in Algeria allocates a significant budget to infrastructure, including $ 62 billion for the development of new infrastructure, $ 48 billion for the renovation of existing infrastructure and $ 1 billion for the development of road infrastructure.
