Tunisian-Indian Fertilisers “TIFERT” to be operational soon

Efforts continue by the Ministry of Industry to ensure the commissioning in the coming weeks of the Tunisian-Indian Fertilizers “TIFERT,” a project specializing in phosphoric acid. This project will provide a new impetus to industrial trade between the two countries and the phosphates sector in Tunisia, Mehdi Jomaa, Minister of Industry said, Thursday, as he met with Ms. Nagma Mohammed Mallik, Ambassador of India to Tunisia. As a reminder, this project was launched by the Gafsa Phosphate Company, the Tunisian Chemical Group and India’s Coromandel and Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (GSFC), in order to ensure the production of 360,000 tons of phosphoric acid per year with an investment of 750 million dinars. This new project would employ 500 people and develop Tunisian exports of phosphates and derivatives.
