bout US$ 137 million was embezzled between September an d November 2009 at the National Bank of Angola by a group of citizens who collud e d with workers of the financial institution and the Ministry of Finance, PANA re p orted, quoting the country’s news agency, ANGOP.
According to official sources, more than US$ 98 million have been recovered and property worth more than US$ 15 million in Portugal seized by Angolan authoritie s following their collaborative efforts with Portuguese officials.
Twenty one persons have been arrested in connection with the embezzlement.
