WB appoves US$10m to train Congo’s youth

The International Development Association (IDA), an arm of the World Bank, has granted Congo US$10 million to partly fund a project aimed at training 15,000 young unemployed people in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, the Director of the financial institution’s operations in Congo, Eustache Ouayoro, announced.

A total of US$32 million is to be spent in Congo to train jobless youth, especially to enhance their skills.

Despite the progresses noted in the employment sector, there is an urgent need to enhance the professional skills of young people active in the informal sector, Mr. Ouayoro said.
