Two new shopping centres are set to open in the Gulf region in the next few weeks, developers said on Sunday.
The new Fujairah City Centre, built by Majim Al Futtaim, is slated to open on April 4 while Muscat Grand Mall, the largest shopping mall in Oman, is set for a soft opening on March 1.
At Fujairah, Majid Al Futtaim said it had completed the completion of the mall ceiling. It added that preparations were on schedule with 100 percent of retail units under fit-out.
Fujairah City Centre is the sixth shopping mall in the UAE for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, and is being developed in joint-partnership with the government-owned Fujairah Investment Establishment.
All of the mall’s 105 units have been handed over and retailer fit-out is well underway including anchor tenants Centrepoint, Paris Gallery, Max Fashion and Carrefour, MAF said in a statement.
“We are diligently working with our retail partners, contractors and government officials to ensure a smooth and successful launch,” said Majed Al Fahim, senior mall manager for Fujairah City Centre.
Separately, Al Madina Real Estate announced on Sunday that the soft opening of its flagship retail shopping development Muscat Grand Mall would take place on March 1.
The shopping mall will include 160 outlets and will be anchored by Carrefour Hypermarket.
It will also be the first mall in Oman to feature a multiplex cinema, a statement said
Abdul Rahman Barham, CEO of Al Madina Real Estate said: “We are delighted to make this announcement and take the opportunity to reiterate our commitment in promoting projects in the Sultanate in line with the goals and aspirations of the country.”
The Tilal complex also includes Tilal Offices that will provide a headquarters for Nawras, Tilal Residences, four-star hotel apartments and a large health club.
