Comptoir National Tunisien (CNT) has published its consolidated financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2023, which will be submitted for approval to the Ordinary General Meeting to be held on June 14, 2024.
These accounts show a consolidated net profit of 1.6 million dinars, down 67% from 5 million dinars in 2022.
This sharp fall in profits is mainly due to the fact that operating expenses have increased at a faster rate than revenues.
In fact, consolidated revenues amounted to 66 million dinars in 2023, an increase of 21% compared to 2022. Operating expenses went up by 30% to 62.4 million dinars.
As a result, operating profit fell by 45%, from 6.8 million dinars in 2022 to 3.7 million dinars at the end of last December. The CNT group, which specializes in the trading of building materials, wood and derivatives, comprises the parent company, Comptoir National Tunisien, and its three subsidiaries: Société Tunisienne de l’Industrie de Bois (STIB), L’Immobilière du Comptoir and C-B Meubles
