CEO of the National Olive Oil Office, Hamed Dali, said olive production estimates for the 2024-2025 season are 1.7 million tons and 340,000 tons of oil, an increase of 55% over the previous season.
Speaking at a press conference on the olive oil sector Monday, he said that prices had fallen from 18 dinars to 14 dinars per liter compared to the previous week.
He added that the Olive Oil Office had started to buy quantities of olive oil from farmers Monday, without mentioning the purchase price.
“Prices change from day to day, but they will be reasonable and will take into account international prices,” he pointed out.
