The Court of Accounts of Tunisia and the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) have signed a Letter of Intent and a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting the exchange of expertise between the two supreme audit institutions.
The agreements were signed during a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the Forum for INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements (FIPP), which took place in Tunis from May 19 to 22, the TCU reported on its official website.
The meeting brought together TCU President Vital do Rêgo, Minister Antonio Anastasia, Court of Accounts of Tunisia President Fadhila Gargouri, and Prosecutor General Narjess Sallami.
The cooperation framework covers several strategic areas, including innovation, digital technologies, government auditing, public governance and jurisdictional oversight.
During the discussions, the Brazilian delegation presented a number of in-house developed initiatives, including ChatTCU, an artificial intelligence-based platform, ClimateScanner, the Energy Transition Audit Guide, and a multidimensional poverty audit project conducted in partnership with the University of Oxford.
For their part, Tunisian officials expressed interest in expanding collaboration on public fund accountability, jurisdictional functions, and the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The agreement marks a new step in strengthening ties between the two institutions, fostering the exchange of best practices and reinforcing their shared commitment to transparency, good governance, and the effective stewardship of public resources.
