The revenue from Tunisian date exports rose by 6.9% during the first four months of the 2024/2025 campaign compared to the same period last year, reaching 479.6 million dinars, according to data published last Friday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).
For the period from October 2024 to January 2025, the volume of exported dates reached 73.3 thousand tons, marking a 4.3% increase compared to the same period in the 2023/2024 campaign.
The average price recorded by the end of January 2025 increased by 2.5%, reaching 6.55 DT/kg, up from 6.39 DT/kg recorded by the end of January 2024.
Morocco was the top destination for Tunisian dates in January 2025, accounting for 29.1% of the exported quantities, followed by Turkey and France with 9.8% and 7.1%, respectively.
Regarding organic dates, their revenue during the first four months of the 2024/2025 campaign reached 27.9 million dinars, with a total of 2,922 tons exported at an average price of 9.55 DT/kg.
Their share in the total Tunisian date exports stands at 4.0% and 5.8%, respectively, in terms of quantity and value, according to ONAGRI data.
Germany is the primary destination for organic date products, accounting for 25% of the exported quantities, followed by the Netherlands and France with 14% and 12%, respectively.
