Tunisia: State budget 2026 amounts to 79.624 bn dinars, up 3.9% compared to 2025

The State budget for 2026 has been set at 79.624 billion dinars, up 3.9% compared to the expected results for 2025, according to the draft budget document.

Budget expenditures are expected to rise by 6.3% in 2026 to reach 63.575 billion dinars, of which 40% will go to wages and salaries (25.267 billion dinars) and 32% to intervention spending (19.835 billion dinars), including subsidies (9.772 billion dinars).

Meanwhile, investment and management expenditures will represent 10% (6.463 billion dinars) and 4.6% (2.939 billion dinars) of total spending, respectively.

On the revenue side, budget resources are projected at 52.560 billion dinars in 2026, up 7.1% from 2025, with 90.9% coming from tax revenues.

The draft budget is based on several assumptions, including a 3.3% GDP growth rate for 2026, exchange rate stability of the dinar against major international currencies, and a 4% increase in goods imports.

Tunisia’s 2026 budget is built on a reference Brent oil price of USD 63.3 per barrel, while the average Brent closing price stood at USD 64.44 as of November 4, 2025.

The 2026 State budget aligns with the 2026–2030 development plan, which seeks to strike a balance between strengthening the foundations of the social state and supporting economic growth—through reinforcing the State’s social role, promoting employment, raising public and private sector wages, enhancing balanced regional development, and boosting public investment.
