Tunisia: SunGard to continue investing in the country

American SunGard, the leading world group specialized in software and information technology services, present in Tunisia since 2008, “will continue investing in the country”, Harold Finders, Executive Director of the Group Tuesday said to the press after a meeting with Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali.

The official, who is leading a SunGard delegation to this meeting, said the presence of the group in Tunisia materializes its commitment to focus the development of its activities on three strategic geographical areas, namely China, India and Tunisia.

The group, which had inaugurated in April 2011 its new headquarters in the El Ghazela Techno-park in Tunis, employs currently 500 persons against only 130 when it had started work he reminded, underlining that the main areas for development of the group’s activities in Tunisia are “security, infrastructure and human resources.”

“I am optimistic about the future if conditions continue to develop on the right track,” he said.

In another connection, Mr. Finders said he is “impressed” by the quality and level of students graduate from the Tunisian universities and voiced “satisfaction” at the development of infrastructure.”

“I see Tunisia as a technological centre ideally placed to host all the European companies specialized in information technology and new technologies, he told the press.”
