Preparations in the Nabeul–Hammamet North tourist area are well underway to ensure smooth year-end holidays, Regional Tourism Director Wahid Ben Fraj said.
“According to current estimates, the number of guests staying in the region’s tourist hotels is expected to reach around 15,000, and 32 tourist establishments will host New Year’s Eve celebrations,” he told Mosaïque FM.
Noting that this period coincides with the school holidays, he stressed that preparations have been underway for some time. Inspection services of the Nabeul Regional Tourism Delegation are carrying out thorough checks of various tourist facilities, with the frequency of visits set to increase in the coming days, as the region is expected to see heightened activity, particularly from domestic tourism and the Algerian market, alongside traditional markets such as France, the UK, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
Ben Fraj added that efforts in the tourism sector will focus on securing restaurant operations and food supplies, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards, monitoring indoor swimming pools, and maintaining service quality.
Hotels are also working to enhance self-insurance systems and preventive security within tourist establishments.
He further noted that monitoring and assurance measures also cover tourist travel, including insurance and inspections of buses, tour guides, and the advertised programs.
