At the end of the past year, the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) posted a net profit of 1.153 million dinars, compared to 1.363 million dinars in 2024, a decrease of 15.4%.
This decline results from revenues falling at a faster pace than expenses. Specifically, the bank’s total expenses increased by 14.7%, rising from 920 million dinars to 1.078 million dinars.
Operating income, meanwhile, fell by 17.8% to 2.073 million dinars, down from 2.442 million dinars in 2024.
This income consists mainly of proceeds from money market intervention operations (1.161 million dinars) and interest on fixed-term foreign currency placements (427 million dinars).
