Tunisia: Four exporters forge business links with Ghanaian buyers

Four Tunisian exporting companies established direct business contacts with Ghanaian importers, distributors and economic operators through an intensive program of tailored business meetings during a door-to-door trade mission dedicated exclusively to the agri-food sector in Accra, Ghana.

According to a statement released on Saturday by CEPEX (Tunisia’s Export Promotion Centre), the Tunisian delegation showcased a representative range of the country’s agri-food expertise, including olive oil, dates and date-based products, pasta, couscous, biscuits, beverages, canned fish (tuna and sardines), and a variety of other preserved food products.

In addition to the B2B meetings, participating companies conducted several field visits to Accra’s leading modern retail chains, wholesale markets and traditional distribution channels.

These visits enabled them to gain a better understanding of the Ghanaian market, consumer preferences and the requirements of local distribution networks.

CEPEX said the mission forms part of its efforts to support Tunisian companies in establishing a lasting presence in high-potential African markets such as Ghana, whose food retail market is estimated at $33.2 billion.

Ghana is currently Tunisia’s 11th-largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, while Tunisian exports to the country increased by 64% during the first five months of 2026.

However, Tunisia’s untapped export potential in the Ghanaian market is estimated at more than $20 million.

This potential spans both agri-food products, including canned sardines, pasta, double-concentrated tomato paste and margarine and industrial products such as electrical conductors, electricity meters, superphosphates and cement.
