Tunisia: Internet Start-up 10KWEB expands its business

Internet Start-up company, 10KWEB, announces its expansion into Africa continues with a presence in Tunisia.

The company reported smaller numbers when compared to Morocco but 10KWEB Co-Founder Anthony Martins maintains an enthusiastic attitude regarding the modest beginning, saying, “It is especially rewarding in light of recent events taking place in Tunisia.

It is changing for the better and 10KWEB is proud to be part of that change.”

The “events” Martins spoke of included the Tunisian Revolution which culminated in Tunisia’s President, Zine el Abidine ben Ali, stepping down after twenty-three years in office.

In the aftermath of the revolution, Tunisia saw a democratically-elected President taking office, changes to its constitution and the easing of restrictions against the press, religious beliefs and the public in general.

The next step is improving the country’s unemployment rate which currently hovers around 18%. It is in this area that 10KWEB hopes to make a difference by offering an alternative income source to Tunisia’s citizens and giving them the means to reach out to the rest of the world.

10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners.

Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Italy and New Zealand with more markets in development.
