Africa has tremendous potentials and resources to achieve development on its own, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saad Dine El Otmani,
said here Wednesday on the sidelines of a meeting of some African diplomats on the occasion of the Africa Day.
“Besides, the promotion of a peaceful and stable Africa can only be achieved through further regional integration,” the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP) quoted the head of the Moroccan diplomacy as saying.
El Otmani made it clear that his country, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, would spare no effort in defending African countries’ interests, restating Morocco’s commitment to a strong and developed Africa.
“Morocco, whose companies in the banking, telecommunications, transport and mining sectors are spread across many African countries, ranks second to South Africa in terms of investment in the continent,” he added
El Otmani indicated that Rabat was making huge efforts towards the development of Africa’s human resources by hosting 8,000 African students, 6,500 of whom it had granted scolarships.
