The 2025 tourism season continues with mixed results, both positive and negative, prompting reflection at all levels in preparation for the next season.
In this context, Minister of Tourism, Sofiene Tekaya, recently met with President of the Tunisian Hotels Federation, Dorra Miled, and the President of the Tunisian Union of Travel and Tourism Agencies, Ahmed Bettaieb, in the presence of several ministry officials and the Director General of the Tunisian National Tourism Office, Mohamed El Mehdi Haloui.
The meeting focused on reviewing the priorities for the next phase and taking necessary measures to continue supporting tourism activity until the end of the year, within a proactive approach to ensure the sustainability of the positive indicators recorded.
Ahmed Bettaieb, speaking to Mosaïque FM, stated that the meeting provided an opportunity to assess the results of this season and what remains, as well as to raise important issues closely related to the tourism sector and its objectives.
These include cleanliness, support for environmental preservation efforts, land and air transport, service improvement, monitoring, and thorough preparation for desert tourism to avoid any disruptions.
He highlighted the alignment of views between the public and private sectors and the agreement to hold regular meetings to monitor and evaluate the measures taken to minimize disruptions in the sector as much as possible.
Bettaieb also highlighted the issue of digitalization, which is one of the priorities of the services still being proposed to advance the sector, particularly strengthening air and land tourist transport links (both domestic and international), reinforcing air bridges to open direct routes between several countries and the Tunisian destination and supporting Tunisair, which is grappling with several operational challenges.
