Angola’s population is estimated at about 20.9 million, the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP), reported Wednesday.
This was announced by the Director of the Study, Research and Development Centre of the National School of Administration (ENAD), José Ribeiro.
“The rate of growth of the population is three per cent per year. It is high, but there are signs of a slight decline and if the trend is maintained until 2036, we could reach 41.8 inhabitants,” he said.
The Angolan demographer, who was the linchpin of conference in Luanda also said there were at least 24.5 foreigners for every 11,000 Angolans.
About 55 per cent of the country’s total population, according to estimates, is concentrated in urban centres and in the province of Luanda, the Angolan capital and most populated city
