Benin: WADB to raise 800 billion CFAF for Benin

The West African Development Bank (WADB) is considering raising 800 billion CFAF for Benin to finance several projects meant to promote the competitiveness of the country’s economy, official sources told PANA in Cotonou on Thursday.

The presidency said that almost all the key sectors of the economy would be taken into consideration by the fund – roads, agriculture, rural and urban water, sanitation, energy, education and health.

The resources, as part of that arrangement, would be raised with the help of multinational partners, including the French Development Agency (AFD), the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the ECOWAS Investment Bank, the Arab, Saudi and Kuwaitian sovereign fund.
