Botswana Stock Exchange’s DCI rises fivefold

Botswana Stock Exchange’s (BSE’s) Domestic Company Index (DCI) took a huge leap last week, compared to the previous week.

Information from BSE Monday indicated that the DCI gained 1.49 percent during the week ending 25 January, closing at 7,655.99 points from 7,543.91 points the previous week.

“For the year-to-date the index has risen by 1.94 percent, while the foreign company index declined by 0.19 percent,” said a statement from the bourse.

Meanwhile a total of 11,074,257 securities valued at P24,302,173 were traded during the week.

The DCI had gained 0.28 percent during the week ending 18 Jan., closing at 7,543.91 points.
