Chinese mobile phone maker sets up business in Zimbabwe

 A Chinese mobile phone maker, G-Tide, on Monday set up a regional distribution centre in Zimbabwe, from where it will cover the whole o f southern Africa.

In future, officials said G-Tide planned to establish a phone-manufacturing plan t in Zimbabwe.

Though not as popular as Nokia and Samsung mobile phones, G-Tide phone handsets have captured a sizeable market share in Zimbabwe.

The phones are particularly popular among low-income people because they are che aper than most other brands.

Munyaradzi Gwatidzo, Managing Director of G-Tide Zimbabwe, said all countries in the sub-region would be supplied from Zimbabwe.
