Congolese president urges French companies to invest in his country

Congolese president Denis Sassou N’Guesso on Tuesday
urged French businessmen from the Group of French Companies (MEDEF) to invest in his country.

“The Congolese government today has many priorities. Top of those priorities is the country’s industrialization through the development of agriculture and food processing, forestry and wood industry, hydrocarbon and industries,” he said in an interaction with a MEDEF delegation in Brazzaville.

“There are huge discoveries of iron ore and other minerals, eco-tourism, the services sector and many other sectors that might lead to the development of our country,” president N’Guesso added.

He said “the atmosphere of peace and security” prevailing in the country, the “restoration of macro-economic stability”, as well as efforts made over the past few years in terms of basic infrastructure facilitate investment.

The chairman of the Africa committee and deputy chairman of MEDES (International), Patrick Lucas, stressed his organization’s confidence in Congo.

“We begin this visit with much hope and confidence. We will spend several days in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire,” he said.
