Côte d’Ivoire’s cocoa futures price at Monday’s auction recorded a rise while coffee went down, according to figures released by the Coffee-Cocoa Council.
For the January-March 2015 period, the cocoa futures price had an increase of 16 francs CFA selling at 1,692 francs CFA/kg against 1,676 francs CFA/kg last Friday.
From April to June 2015 the same increase is maintained with 15 FCFA on prices of 1,670 francs CFA/kg, against 1,655 francs CFA/kg at the previous auction.
However, coffee futures price for December 2014-January 2015 were on decline, trading at 1,039 francs CFA/kg against Friday’s 1,058 francs CFA/kg.
From February-March 2015, prices will be on downward spiral to 1,051 francs CFA/kg against the previous figure of 1,071 francs CFA/kg.
Minimum prices guaranteed to producers at the beginning ot the marketing year remained stable with 850 francs CFA/kg for cocoa and 650 francs CFA/kg for coffee.
