CPG: Strike in several production units

Employees of the Gafsa Phosphate Company (CPG) have, since Thursday, launched strikes and protest movements in several production units located in Redeyef, Metlaoui, Mdhilla, and Om Laarayes, leading to a slowdown in work and production, according to Express FM.

The protest comes in response to what workers describe as delays by the company’s general management in paying their outstanding entitlements, particularly the advance on the productivity bonus and the remaining balance of the thirteenth-month bonus, according to union sources.

For its part, the General Union of Mines has expressed support for the workers’ actions across the company’s various regions, calling on the supervisory authority to intervene urgently to ease social tensions within the company and to respond to the professional demands raised.
