Dubai to be the first Arab city to be available on Google Street View

Internet users around the world will soon be able to cruise down the streets of Dubai on their laptops and tablets

Google announced on Wednesday that Dubai will be the first Arab city to be available on the Street View, available in the company’s Google Maps and Google Earth app.. Currently, images from 48 countries are available.
The exact date of launching the services in the city has not been announced yet.
The images are captured by special cars equipped with camera recording the surroundings while driving down the street.
Google said it may also offers Street View inside malls in Dubai.

A working version of Street View is already available for the Burj Khalifa. The car was on display at the UAG Government Summit’s showcase innovation and technology.
UAE is among the top countries in the region with internet penetration with nearly 6 million of the 9.2 million populations.
License plates numbers and faces will be blurred in the UAE.
Google, which is based in Mountain View, California and operates the world’s largest internet search engine, originally launched the Street View service in the US in 2007.
