France grants CFAF3b to Mali’s SMBs

The French Development Agency (FDA) has injected 5 million euros (about CFAF 3,275 billion) into the Malian National Agricultural Development Bank (BNDA) in an effort to help finance the activities of Small- and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), PANA learnt Monday from official sources.

The funding is to re-inforce the capacity of the Malian bank to grant mid-term and long-term loans, the sources said, adding that the BNDA plays a key part in the financing of the SMBs active in the Malian rural sector.

The French financial support will also ensure a good 2013-2014 agricultural campaign by boosting the income and living conditions of agricultural workers, the sources indicated.
