The increase came a day after the Rwandan Ministry for Trade and Industry (MINIC OM) announced the rise in fuel prices on the international market.

The price of diesel rose by 2.2 per cent, while unleaded gasoline rose by 2.6 pe r cent, selling at 920 Rwandan francs per liter, the Rwandan government said in a statement.

In Rwanda, the increase in fuel price often leads to higher rates of public tran sport operations, which is being anticipated in the country already.
