A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the promotion of bilateral trade and investment was signed here Friday between the US Embassy in Banjul and The Gambia.
The MOU was signed by the Embassy, the Ministry of Trade Industry and Employmen t, Trust Bank Limited and Eco Bank Gambia Limited.
The MOU arose as a result of the exchanges, concerns and suggestions from a two- day business and investment forum, organised and sponsored by the Embassy.
After signing the MOU, the four signatories established an informal alliance aim ed at promoting trade investment between The Gambia and the United States, and d e clared that they shall do everything within their power to foster and facilitate all ac tivities aimed at increasing the level of trade and investment.
Under the MOU, the Trust Bank Limited and Eco Bank will support and assist all S mall and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that present to them sound business proposals , orders or proformas for trade deals with U.S.-based companies.
