Ghana bourse slumps

The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark index of the Accra bourse, slumped on Monday Feb 12th on account of significant losses by CAL Bank and CFAO.

The index lost 4.55 points at 5,025.33 points from 5,029.88 points last Friday.

Traded volumes were a high at 1,002,500 with CFAO selling 752,400 and CAL moved 210,500. Last Friday’s volumes traded ended at 33,400. Change for the year was lower at 0.39 percent from 0.48 percent on Friday.

Market capitalisation closed lower at 112,612.22 billion cedis from Friday’s 112,639.29 billion cedis.

There were six price changes — four positive and two negative. CAL lost 105 cedis at 2,100 cedis while CFAO lost 49 cedis at 350 cedis.

Aluworks Limited gained one cedi at 7,263 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) was seven cedis better at 8,850 cedis, ECOBANK Ghana gained one cedi at 13,581 cedis while Standard Chartered Bank was also one cedi better at 165,001 cedis.
