International Monetary Fund (IMF) boss Christine Lagarde is expected to arrive in Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital, Wednesday, in the last leg of an African tour that has taken her to Malawi and Côte d’Ivoire, PANA learnt from official sources.
While in Nouakchott, Ms. Lagarde will take part in a forum on economic integration in the Maghreb and also meet with Mauritanian authorities for a thorough review of the cooperation between the two parties.
Mauritania and the IMF are currently bound by an Extended Credit Facility arrangement amounting to US$118 million.
Three disbursements have already been made under the arrangement.
The disbursement of the latest – US$16.9 million – was approved by IMF in December 2012.
