Italian oil group ENI to invest over $ 600 million in Tunisia

Italian oil group ENI is planning to invest in Tunisia more than $ 600 million in 2012 and to hire 160 workers on its ENI-Tunisia site, ENI deputy-chairman Franco Paolo announced.

Mr. Paolo, who presented on Monday in Tunis ENI-Tunisia’s 2012 activity agenda to Industry and Trade Minister Mohamed Lamine Shakhari, said that “these investments are meant to develop the oil fields, reinforce exploration activities and finance green development actions in production centers.” The Italian oil company has been operating in Tunisia for more 50 years and it is credited with the country’s most important oil discovery, the El-Borma field in southern Tunisia.
