Japan gives Mauritania 8.5 million euro to refurbish Nouadhibou fishing harbour

Japan has approved a 8.5-million-euro funding for Mauritania to extend its traditional fishing harbour in the city of Nouadhibou, PANA reported here Tuesday.

With the funding, a new dock will be built together with a seawall protection and four pontoons for the boats, official sources told PANA.

The city of Nouadhibou has some 3,500 traditional fishing boats.
