Tunisia: 50 French companies shut down in 2012

Fifty French share holding companies had left Tunisia in 2012, it was indicated at a lunch debate organized on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the initiative of the Tunisian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CTFCI).

These companies are financially very fragile and do not belong to parent companies, an official at the CTFCI told Africanmanager.

He added that the average closing is 20 to 30 per year and has nothing to do with the Revolution.

However, he noted the entry into production of 40 new French share holding businesses and completion of 68 extensions and projects in progress.

Until the end of 2012, nearly 1,210 French companies are operating in Tunisia. They have generated 3,006 jobs.
