Joint statement issued by The Central African Republic G8 group

The Central African Republic G8 group condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the violence committed since September 25, 2015 in Bangui. The G8 offers its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims.

The Central African Republic G8 group calls on all persons involved to cease acts of violence and to lay down their arms. The group encourages all civil, political, and religious leaders to engage in and to encourage the reestablishment of peace in a responsible manner.

Those responsible for the violence and those, who incited violence, must answer for their actions. The Central African Republic G8 group salutes the courageous efforts of the internal, Central African security forces and the international forces of MINUSCA and the Sangaris, who re-established security over the last four days.

The Central African Republic G8 group fully supports the authorities of and the set process of the Transition. The Central African people, by registering in large numbers for elections, have shown their clear desire to rapidly elect the future leaders of the country.

Peace and political stability are the bases of reconciliation, justice, economic growth, employment and prosperity for the current and future generations in the Central African Republic.
