Kuwait to emerge as trade hub

Kuwait is pursuing an aggressive strategy to become an established trade and financial center through its participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2009 slated May 5-8 in Dubai, according to a top travel industry executive.

“This is the 8th consecutive year that Kuwait, under the stewardship of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry  Tourism Sector, has participated in the Arabian Travel Market, a clear illustration that both government and private sector realize the event’s potential in opening doors to the international tourism community,” said Mark Walsh, Group Exhibitions Director of event organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions.

A contingent of more than 20 local companies, to be headed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Tourism Sector, are expected to take part during the Arabian Travel Market 2009 show.

The Arabian Travel Market, the Middle East’s premier Travel and tourism event, remains a ‘central’ platform in Kuwait’s ongoing promotion of its tourism strategy and inbound and outbound potential, according to a prepared statement from Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry Tourism Sector.
