The Libyan general people’s committee on Wednesday in Tripoli decided to open a commercial office in Singapore under the supervision of the Libyan national economic development centre.
Sources close to the committee say the opening of the office satisfies the desir e to cooperate with Singapore and to profit from its successful experience in th e financial, administrative, educational and technological areas.
During its periodic meeting, the Libyan general people’s committee also agreed t o a proposal to send academics from universities and institutes for 2008-2009 ac a demic year to undertake higher specialized studies abroad.
The committee decided on the reorganization of the executive committee for the L ibyan atomic energy commission.
It also agreed to nominate a Libyan consul general in Marseille, Southern France .
