Mali: EU granted 200 billion CFAF to Mali last year

The European Union (EU) released 200 billion CFAF to Mali last year, the chief of the EU delegation in Mali, Richard Zink, said on Wednesday in Bamako.

Speaking at a press conference, he said the money included 20 billion CFAF spent on humanitarian activities.

He said that EU pledged 200 billion CFAF at the donors’ conference for Mali in May 2013 in Brussels to finance development projects.

During the conference, the international community pledged 3.3 billion euro for Mali’s development after nearly 10 months of occupation of its northern parts by jihadists.

The EU is preparing actively the second meeting for donors due for 5 February in Bamako.
