Mali to buy 25,000 tonnes of fertilizer from Morocco

Half a dozen Malian businessmen have ordered 25,000 tonnes of phosphate fertilisers from Morocco, according to Malian sources.

The order valued at 8 billion FCFA was made at the Moroccan Office of Phosphates (OCP) during a business trip to Morocco by the Malian businessmen.

The OCP group has phosphate reserves estimated at 85 billion cubic metres, or more than 51 per cent of world reserves.

The business trip of the Malian businessmen to Morocco was made possible through the International Bank for Mali (BIM-SA), a subsidiary of the Moroccan banking group, Attijariwafa Bank
