Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at a military facility in the country’s oil city of Port Harcout on Thursday, but there were no casualty, the NAF spokesman, Group Capt. Dele Alonge said.
He did not say what led to the emergency landing, but disclosed that the Chief of Air Staff has ordered a probe into the incident, which occurred during a training exercise.
The incident happened three days after a NAF Alpha jet crashed in Dargol, near the Nigerien capital city of Niamey, killing the two pilots on board.
PANA reports that the plane was one of the four based in Niamey as part of the African-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA).
