Nigerian bourse gets new communications head

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has appointed Mr. Dante Ibidapo Martins as its new Head, Corporate Communications, saying “his appointment is part of the efforts of the management to strengthen the workforce in key areas of operations and reposition the bourse as the gateway to African markets.”

According to a statement from the exchange, made available to PANA here Monday, Martins, a communications professional, joined NSE from the Cornerstone Financial Group, where he was the Head of Brand and Corporate Development.

He brings over 12 years of experience in advertising, corporate identity development, events management, public relations, new product development and direct marketing to the exchange.

The statement said, “In the course of his career in marketing and communications, he worked as a consultant at different times with the Leo Burnett Advertising Group, Insight/Troyka Group and TBWA/Concept Group.”

Martins holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, a degree in Management Sciences from the University of Winneba, a Certificate in Digital Communication and Design from the Pan African University and a Professional Diploma in Communication from the Business Education Examinations Council.

He also holds a Professional Practicing Certificate in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and is an Associate member of the Institute of Direct Marketing, London.

Martins also has broad experience on local and multinational brands in the areas of aviation, tobacco, telecoms, health care, oil and gas, shipping, banking, food and beverages, insurance and state governments
