Partner forum on Guinea set Tuesday in Paris

A two-day forum intended to enlist support from the international community for the economic programme of Guinea Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate will Tuesday open in Paris, the World Bank office affirmed Friday.

The source said the Guinean government will take advantage of the Forum that it organises jointly with the World Bank and the EU to present its second “Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper” (PRSP).

“This will give the partners the opportunity to reiterate their support to the poverty reduction strategy and determine the specific supports they can offer to the Guinean government’s emergency programme,” the Bank explains in a note announcing the meeting.

The Guinea government delegation, which will be led by the minister of economy, finance and planning, Ousmane Dore, is also expected to present during the forum Prime Minister Kouyate’s emergency programme for the next six months.
