The Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) is scheduled to meet in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, 24-26 Sept., under the Chairmanship of Yousif Bin Ibrahim Al Bassam.
The third meeting of the Board for 2014 will also be attended by the Bank’s Director-General, Mr. Abdelaziz Khelef, the Bank said in a statement obtained by PANA here Monday.
The agenda of the meeting includes the approval of a new batch of development projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of some sub-Saharan African countries.
At its first meeting for 2014, the Board approved projects and technical assistance operations worth US$88.665 million, out of which US$86.600 million was allocated to finance 9 development projects and US$2.065 million for 8 technical assistance operations.
During its second meeting, the Board also approved projects and technical assistance operations worth US$60.60 million, out of which US$57.50 million was used to finance 7 projects and US$3.10 million for 10 technical assistance operations.
As at June 2014, the Board has approved projects worth US$147.2 million covering 34 development operations in sub-Saharan African countries.
