Bee’ah, a UAE-based environmental and waste management company, will build the world’s largest advanced thermal energy-from-waste facility in Sharjah,a report said.
A $505 million contract to build the facility has been awarded to Chinook Sciences, a UK-based research group that supports nuclear, metal and industrial gases industries, said the Gulf News report.
It said the UK Trade Minister Lord Livingston made the announcement on the contract during a visit to the Chinook’s Nottingham headquarters.
Dr Rifat Chalabi, Chinook Sciences’ Group Chairman and CEO, said the Sharjah project is a major milestone for the company as the company will now be building the world’s largest household waste gasification plant in partnership with one of the most visionary companies in the sector.
