A delegation from the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (UTICA), led by its President, Samir Majoul, participated in the signing ceremony for a memorandum of agreement to establish the Tunisia-Norway Business Council on Thursday in Oslo, Norway.
The ceremony was attended by the Director-General of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), Ole Erik Almid.
According to a UTICA statement, Majoul emphasized that the establishment of this Business Council will help boost economic relations and strengthen trade and bilateral investments between the two countries.
“This council will serve as a permanent platform for promoting business, exchanging expertise, and launching joint projects between the two countries,” he stated.
He also expressed the view that the strong relationship between the two employer organizations, UTICA and NHO, is built on trust, dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and joint contributions to capacity building, supporting entrepreneurship, and promoting governance and sustainability.
For his part, Ole Erik Almid affirmed that the cooperation between the two organizations, which dates back to 2016, has helped improve the business environment in Tunisia.
He recalled that NHO’s “Female Future” program, launched in Tunisia in 2019, has successfully trained over 100 women in leadership skills and good governance.
It is worth noting that business meetings were organized on the sidelines of the UTICA delegation’s visit with professionals affiliated with NHO.
Furthermore, the Tunisian delegation participated in the Nordic-African Business Summit, organized by the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA), to strengthen economic cooperation between Scandinavian and African countries.
