SNTRI: Launch of two lines linking Tunisia to Algeria

The Product Director of the Société Nationale de Transport Interurbain (SNTRI), Adib Bakkouche, announced the launch of two new international routes linking Tunisia and Algeria, in coordination with the Algerian side represented by the Entreprise Publique Économique Universitaire de Transport et de Services.

Speaking to Expresso on Thursday, March 12, 2026, he specified that the new routes concern Tunis – Algiers and Tunis – Annaba. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and the special relations between Tunisia and Algeria, while bringing the two peoples closer together.

The first service on the Tunis – Algiers route started on Thursday from the Bab Alioua bus station. The journey passes through several Tunisian and Algerian cities, including Le Kef, Tajerouine, and Kalaat Senan, before continuing to Constantine, Sétif, and Bordj Bou Arreridj, and arriving in Algiers.

This line will operate two round trips per week. Departures from Bab Alioua are scheduled on Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, with returns from Algiers on the same days and at the same time.

For the Tunis – Annaba route, the first service is scheduled for Friday. The itinerary will pass through Béja, Jendouba, Aïn Draham, and the Babouch border crossing, before continuing to El Aioun, El Kala, Aïn El Assel and Ben M’Hidi, finally reaching Annaba.

This line will offer four round trips per week. Departures from the Bab Saadoun bus station are planned on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 7:00 AM, with return trips from Annaba on the same days and at the same time.
