The new ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Seychelles, Mr. Prasittiporn Wetprasit, presented his credentials to President James Michel at State House this morning. The President and the Ambassador discussed several fields of cooperation such agriculture, the Blue Economy, investment, tourism, trade, small industries, and exchanges in botanical expertise.
Ambassador Wetprasit told the national media afterwards that he would encourage investment and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
“I will further continue to help with closer technical cooperation in agriculture, botanical gardens…and in the tourism area such as hotel management… Seychelles has a lot of tourists, same like Thailand, tourism is our main income for Thailand, so I will try to persuade Thai businessmen in hotel management and tourism to come to Seychelles to see the opportunity to do business in Seychelles,” he said.
Ambassador Wetprasit is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Also present during the meeting were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Mr. Joel Morgan and the President’s Diplomatic Adviser, Ambassador Callixte D’Offay, as well as the Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of Thailand to Seychelles, Mr. Joe Chung-Faye
