Tunisia: € 10 million loan from EBRD for SME

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (BRD) has granted its second loan for the Tunisian leasing sector by providing a line of EUR 10 million to help small businesses access finance in a market where the situation is still difficult, indicates a statement.

The loan to “Tunisie Leasing” will be disbursed in two tranches and a part of the total, 3 million, will be paid by Taiwan’s Fund for Development and International Cooperation.

“Tunisie Leasing” will use the funds to finance leases contracted by micro, small and medium sized businesses to acquire assets such as office equipment or commercial vehicles and real estate.

Active in Tunisia since September 2012, the EBRD has invested so far in Tunisia nearly € 150 million spread over a dozen projects.
