Tunisia: 15 foreign companies shut down in 2012

Until April 2012, 15 foreign companies have left Tunisia. They have caused the loss of approximately 80 jobs.

An official at the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) said this figure is normal and is not related to the post-revolution phenomenon since the average of closure of foreign companies in Tunisia is estimated at 120 per year due to market or liquidity problems.

The sector most affected by these closures is textiles and clothing accounting for 50% of these closures followed by the mechanical and electrical sector.
